Dr. Doxas treats the problem behind the symptoms using the Directional Non-Force Technique® method to correct misalignments in the body. These misalignments can cause nerve interference, pain and dysfunction. The doctor delivers a light thumb impulse to realign the spine and its associated structures. This is called a spinal adjustment.
Your first visit will include completing a short health history form covering previous illnesses, injuries or accidents.
We will discuss your present state of health in detail, including areas of chronic pain, and sports-related and activity-related ailments. You will also learn how conditions other than neuromuscular are helped by chiropractic care.
To determine which areas of the body are not functioning at peak performance, we examine you for any misalignments, pinched nerves or deviations that might cause neurological imbalances. We will note such things as: head position, posture, balance, joint range-of-motion, reflexes and alignment of all 24 vertebrae of the spine.
Your history and examination will be reviewed to determine if you can be helped by chiropractic care. If we determine that chiropractic adjustments will not help your condition, you will be referred to the appropriate specialist.
